Kachki Machher Chorchori

KACHKI MACHH IN MICROWAVE





Ingredients :
1. Kachki fish – 250gms
2. Onion – fine slices – 1cup
3. Ginger – finely chopped – 1tbs
4. Garlic – finely chopped – 1tbs
5. Tomato – finely chopped – 1-2tbs
6. Green Chilli Slits - 3-4pcs
7. Turmeric Powder – 1tsp
8. Red Chilli Powder – 1tsp
9. Cumin Powder – 1tsp
10. Salt to taste
11. Oil – Mustard Oil – 2-tsp 


Preparations :
Clean the fish really well, strain extra water and keep it in a microwave safe bowl.

Now add all the ingredients mentioned above, one by one with the fish and mix gently as Kachki fish is very delicate.
After mixing the ingredients, cover the bowl with a plate/lid (lid must have vent).

Cooking Steps :
Put the bowl in the microwave and cook it for 10mins.

After 5mins of cooking, check the consistency of the mixture/gravy. If it looks dry, you can add some water into this and stir gently with a spoon, cover and cook(microwave) it again for next 5mins.
After 10mins, take out the bowl from microwave and add 1tbs of mustard oil for extra flavor and give it a 2mins standing time before serving.

Serving Suggestions :
This fish recipe is very popular in Bengal and it is a very easy way to cook it in microwave in just 10mins. Kachki Chorchori (or Chochhori) cann't be complimented more than having it with hot steamed rice. So go ahead, and enjoy this super easy fish recipe.
